New Delhi, August 13 Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has written a letter to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday. In which he has expressed his inability to participate in the flag hoisting ceremony of the 75th Independence Day. The reason for this is that he has described himself as Covid positive.
India is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its independence as ‘Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav’. So this will be the moment of this special celebration. Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Mallikarjun Kharge has written a letter to Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh after being invited to attend such Independence Day celebrations. In which he said, ‘The 75th anniversary of India’s independence is a historic occasion and a moment of pride for all of us. I am looking forward to participate in the Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony on 15th August 2022. But I am not in a position to attend this event. Because I am corona infected. He further wrote in the letter, ‘Though I will not be physically present, I will join the entire nation in celebrating Independence Day on this auspicious occasion and wish everyone a very Happy Independence Day.
On the other hand, Congress president Sonia Gandhi was again found corona positive on Saturday. Due to which she will keep herself away from the ceremony. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said in a tweet on Saturday, ‘Congress president Sonia Gandhi has tested positive for Covid-19. In such a case, she will now be in quarantine as per government protocol. Let us tell you that Sonia Gandhi was also found to be Covid-19 positive in early June. He was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on June 12. He was discharged from the hospital on June 20 after recovery.
