In Chennai, petrol is Rs 102.63 per liter and diesel is Rs 94.24 per litre.
In Kolkata, petrol is Rs 106.03 per liter and diesel is Rs 92.76 per litre.
In Bangalore, petrol is being sold at Rs 101.94 per liter and diesel at Rs 87.89 per litre.
In Lucknow, petrol is Rs 96.57 per liter and diesel is Rs 89.76 per litre.
In Noida, petrol is being sold at Rs 96.79 per liter and diesel at Rs 89.96 per litre.
In Gurugram, petrol is Rs 97.18 per liter and diesel is Rs 90.05 per litre.
While in Chandigarh, petrol is Rs 96.20 per liter and diesel is Rs 84.26 per litre.
The price of crude oil
Crude oil prices fell on Tuesday morning as China’s economic data reignited fears of a global recession. Brent crude fell 90 cents to trade at $94.20 a barrel on Tuesday morning. WTI crude fell 81 cents to $88.60 a barrel, according to Reuters.
There has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country since May 21
Recently, there has been a reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel in Maharashtra. The state government had announced a reduction in value added tax (VAT) on petrol by Rs 5 and on diesel by Rs 3 per litre. The reduction in VAT is likely to burden the exchequer by Rs 6,000 crore on an annual basis.
In the rest of the country, petrol and diesel prices have been stable since May 21, when Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a cut in excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per liter and diesel by Rs 6 per litre.
