20 people were burnt in a road accident in Pakistan’s Punjab province on Tuesday. According to media reports, a travel bus and an oil tanker collided on the ‘motorway’ in Multan, about 350 km from Lahore. This collision was so strong that the people sitting in the bus did not get a chance to get out of there and they died in the car itself. It may be mentioned that this is the second major accident in the last three days in the state of Punjab.

According to reports, after receiving information about the accident, the emergency service ‘Rescue 1122’ reached and started the rescue operation. The spokesperson of Rescue 1122 said that the bus was going from Lahore to Karachi. Due to the fire in the bus after the collision, the passengers also got caught in that fire. He said that the fire brigade employees had to face a lot of difficulties to control the fire. According to the rescue team, other people who got burnt in the accident have been taken to the hospital for treatment. Along with this, 6 seriously injured passengers are being treated at Nishtar Hospital in Multan. His condition is said to be critical. According to the information, the bodies of the deceased were burnt badly in this accident. Because of this it is difficult to identify them.

The police are talking about handing over the bodies to their families after identifying them by conducting DNA tests. Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi has expressed grief over this incident. He has instructed the health officials to give proper treatment to the injured in the accident. Along with this, the police have been asked to ensure the identity of the deceased while giving instructions. Let us tell you that earlier on Saturday too, a similar terrible accident took place in Punjab state, when a truck and a passenger bus collided. 13 people died in this accident. According to the information, road accidents have become very high in Pakistan in recent times, the reason of which is being said to be bad roads and non-observance of traffic rules.
