New Delhi, August 15: The country is celebrating its 75th independence anniversary. There is a campaign to hoist the tricolor in every house. Meanwhile, Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi has congratulated the countrymen on Independence Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the tricolor at 7:30 am and addressed the nation from the Red Fort.
He said that in the last 75 years, the country has made its mark globally in science, education, health, information technology and other fields due to the hard work of talented Indians. Along with this he said that we have achieved a lot in the last 75 years but the present government is adamant on disrespecting the great sacrifices of the freedom fighters and the great achievements of the country, this cannot be accepted.
Sonia Gandhi said that India has established a free, fair and transparent electoral system under the leadership of its visionary leaders. He strengthened democracy and constitutional institutions. Along with this, India has made its proud identity as a leading country which has always stood the test of pluralism of language, religion, sect.
He said that we have achieved a lot in the last 75 years. But today’s government is bent on trivializing the great sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the pride of the country. Which can never be accepted. The Indian National Congress will strongly oppose any misrepresentation of historical facts for political gain and any attempt to frame great national leaders like Gandhi, Nehru, Patel, Azad on the basis of lies.
Along with this, in the beginning of his speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the countrymen on the completion of 75 years of independence. PM Modi said that congratulations to the countrymen on the completion of 75 years of independence. I extend my very best wishes to all the lovers of India across the world, Indians on this nectar festival of freedom.
