Having a drink when she’s in the powder room?
The arrest report said that on September 10, 2018, Morariu visited a female friend in the now-closed Oujo Bay at 201 Plaza Real in Boca Raton. The report said the woman later told police that she had known Morariu through mutual friends for nearly 20 years. She said that they met to talk about her engagement, which made her think Morariu had parted ways. He later told police that he had taken a Xanax, for which he had taken a prescription a day or two earlier, and had inhaled cocaine within a week.
When she went to Ozo Bay, she said, Morariu was already at the bar. He ordered a martini for him to eat and drink. At the start of the second round of drinks, she said, she headed to the restroom.
Surveillance cameras then see Morariu arriving in his pocket, but due to “technical difficulties”, Morariu pauses the video before doing anything with the woman’s drink. Another customer sitting at the bar told police that he clearly saw that he took out a small plastic bag of powder, put it in his hand and poured it into his drink.
The witness told the police that when he saw the woman having her drink with Morariu, she went outside and called the manager, the manager told the bartender and they grabbed the glass, but not before Morariu’s friend had His martini was more.
