Israel’s iron dome ejects Iranian-backed Islamic Jihad rocket

Israel launched its Iron Dome battery in Gaza on Friday evening from rockets fired by the Iranian-backed terrorist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).

PIJ took responsibility launch It was claimed that there were 100 rockets from the Gaza Strip, which is controlled by Hamas, another Palestinian terrorist group.

According to Israel’s Army Radio, most of the rockets were fired around 9:00 pm and were aimed at cities and towns near Gaza, although some were aimed north, as far as Tel Aviv. To the south was the city of Rishon Letsion.

Some of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome system, which has protected Israeli population centers from most rockets fired by Palestinian militants in recent conflicts.

Others exploded in Gaza without entering Israeli airspace. Israel’s Army Radio reported that PIJ’s rockets are more primitive than those used by Hamas in previous conflicts.

The PIJ rocket launches were in response to an Israeli military operation called Operation Breaking Dawn, which sought to prevent PIJ from launching impending attacks by the Israeli government.

Israel launched Its airstrikes Friday afternoon and killed the PIJ’s leader, Taisir al-Jabari – just days after the US killed Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

Tabri “was in charge of the terrorist group’s rocket arsenal and was the group’s primary coordinator with Hamas,” Jerusalem Post informed of,

It is not clear to what extent the conflict will escalate. Israel is preparing for the possibility of further rocket attacks.

Israel is facing this decline, a factor that could have played into Prime Minister Yair Lapid’s decision to launch the operation, as his party faces a strong challenge from the opposition Likud party, led by former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Does matter.

After four years of peace during President Donald Trump’s tenure, the conflict is the second war in Gaza in as many years.
