A suspect was arrested Sunday in connection with the stabbing to death of a man at the Santa Monica Main Library.

The attack happened around 7:15 p.m. Friday at 601 Santa Monica Blvd., in the library’s northern courtyard. Police said Quaid Larry Colbert, 34, was talking with the victim when he allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the man twice. The accused fled before the police arrived.

The victim died on the spot. His name has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.

After a search, murder detectives identify Colbert and arrest him. Police said both the victim and the suspect are believed to be under home isolation.
